Asian Youth Chess Championship was successfully held from 1-10 April 2018 in Chiangmai, Thailand. A record breaking 1,130 participants in 3 categories of competition – Standard, Rapid and Blitz chess – in age groups from under 8 to under 18, both for boys (open) and girls from 26 countries.
Three of our students represented International Professional Chess School:
WCM Zhumagali Raian - girls U8
Raian placed 3rd in blitz and 4th in standard! She was the youngest among prize winners in her category. Still has a chance to play in this category next year.
Khazhatuly Alikhan - boys U8
Alikhan played for the first time in Asian Youth Chess Championships and showed great performance gaining 5.5 points out of 9 and placed 11th!
Bauyrzhan Arnash - girls U18
Arnash set interesting record in Asian Championship: made 8 draws and 1 win!
Now, our students - Arnash, Raian and Alikhan are going to start trainings for their next important event - World Youth Chess Championship - 2018!
